Kate Kamerrer

Kate Kamerrer is the Assistant Vice President for Capital Budget and Facilities Business Administration at Washington State University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from WSU and has earned her MBA in Management and Strategy.

Kate began her career at WSU 25 years ago in administrative positions within Housing Dining Maintenance and Facilities Services. In her current role as Assistant Vice President, Kate provides administrative leadership for the University’s capital budget as well as Facilities Services budget and planning activities, personnel and payroll control, and strategic planning. She oversees the administrative units in Facilities Services including accounting, payroll/personnel, information technology and resource management, and contract administration. She is also responsible for Custodial Services, Mailing Services and Supply Management Services which includes Central Receiving and Delivery and University Stores. Kate’s leadership responsibilities also include Plant Services (Heavy Equipment, Motor Pool, and Grounds) and Waste Management (Biowaste, Recycling, Compost Yard, and Surplus Stores).

Kate has served on the President’s Commission for the Status of Women and on the Administrative Professionals Advisory Council (APAC) at Washington State University. She received an APAC Contribution Award in 2018. Kate is also active on the board of PCAPPA (Pacific Coast Association of Physical Plant Administrators), currently serving as President. She holds a CEFP (Certified Educational Facilities Professional) designation with APPA International. Kate is a past Master of the Ewarstville Grange and has been a Grange member since childhood.

Kate enjoys attending WSU sports and has been a multi-sport season ticket holder for many years. Her love of all things Coug began when her family moved to the Colton area when she was in junior high school. Kate lives with her husband Rick on their Century Farm southwest of Pullman where they farm with their youngest son Kyle, a WSU alum and fifth generation farmer. Their oldest son, Carl, an accountant and UI alum, has also settled in the Pullman area with his wife. Kyle and wife are parents to Kate’s two beautiful granddaughters with whom she spends as much time as possible.
