
Gus LaRoy
Gus LaRoy is currently the Aviation Maintenance Manager for the Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Flight Department, where they operate a fleet Gulfstreams. He graduated from Western Michigan University, College of Aviation, in 2007, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology.
Post-graduation, Gus embarked on a five-year career with Duncan Aviation from 2007-2012. In 2012, he moved to Montana, where he was hired for the role of Crew Chief by Central Copters in June, 2012, where he was assigned a rotorcraft dedicated to the US Forest Service for firefighting missions.
In November of 2012, he was hired by Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) as a Maintenance Technician. Gus has since spent at least five years in each of his previous positions, including Maintenance Technician and Ground Support Supervisor. Gus has served in his current position as Maintenance Manager since December of 2022, overseeing and coordinating maintenance operations, while leading a team consisting of three Aircraft Crew Chiefs, two Ground Support Technicians and an intern.
Gus enjoys spending time with his family, partaking in sports activities, cycling, fishing, hunting, hiking and camping.
