As Washington State University’s Vice President for Finance and Administration, Stacy Pearson (CPA, MPA) is responsible for the leadership of financial and administrative operations, business services, financial reporting, treasury, real estate, contracting, tax and regulatory compliance, facilities services and campus master planning, public safety, environmental health and safety and risk management. In addition, she was appointed to serve as the University’s executive sponsor of the Modernization Initiative to lead the implementation of a cloud based financial and human resources system and oversee the change management process.

Prior to coming to WSU, Pearson served as Boise State University’s vice president for finance and administration. She served on the President’s executive leadership team and led the financial and planning activities for the University. Pearson served as a leader in developing opportunities and initiatives that advanced the mission of Boise State University (BSU) by strengthening the relationship between fiscal and academic policy, integrating strategic planning with fiscal decisions and providing resources for investment in improvements and new initiatives university-wide.

During her tenure at BSU, Pearson supervised campus planning and facilities operations, the development of the campus master plan and the successful completion of the most aggressive building campaign in the University’s history that included the addition of over 2 million square feet of University space. Prior to her 2004 appointment to vice president for finance and administration, Pearson served for 8 years as the University’s associate vice president for finance and administration. She also played a key role in the State of Idaho’s higher education financial and administrative initiatives.

She currently serves as Chair of the NACUBO Comprehensive and Doctoral Institutions Council and is an active participant and presenter for regional and national higher education professional organizations. She is a current board member for St. Alphonsus Health Systems, Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation and the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport.

Pearson received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Idaho and master of Public Administration degree from Boise State University. She is a licensed certified public accountant in the state of Washington. She was named the 2013 Idaho Woman of the Year by the Idaho Business Review.
